One hundred and twenty three students were given a top-notch escort in a Hummer stretch limousine on their way from the elementary school to the Hurricane High gymnasium. The limousine service was partly donated by Platinum Limousine Services of Hurricane in conjunction with fifth-grade fundraising efforts.
With the support of Principal Valerie Fowler, the fifth-grade parent committee organized the beach-themed event ‘Catch a Wave to Middle School,’ which was a big hit with the students and their parents as well.
‘This is great,’ said Kerri Call, parent of fifth-grade student Allison Call. ‘It was something we as parents and Mrs. Fowler wanted the kids to have, and we worked hard to be sure it happened.’ Platinum Limousine owner Todd Joyce said he was pleased that the kids felt special. ‘They are taking a big step, and I hope the little bit we added made it that much more extraordinary,’ he said
